Hello sorry that I posted a similar issue that was not correct but I still feel that shadow priest mana consumption needs to be looked at. From the response to my last post I understand that I was wrong about mana costs and 4 or so heals should indeed oom a shadow priest (as it is on live). However what I have now realised the issue is rather that when we are oom we do not recover for an entire fight and cannot cast another mana costing spell for at least 30-60 seconds depending on which spell. I don't play retail WoW but this does not feel right at all.
To test this me and my friend who plays a balance druid (which as another hybrid caster I think should have the same mana pool/regen) both made ourselves oom and let our mana regen. My friend had regenerated about 50% mana before I was even able to cast another heal. I know This is a very rough test but i think it does demonstrate there is something imbalanced with Shadow Priest mana regen. The regen rate is approx 1k per second which seems far too low.
I also have a Shaman and to check another similar hybrid caster I did the same test as elemental spec (though it may be the same for enhance). I would say the mana regeneration for elemental shaman is about double that of a shadow priest!
I am sorry I do not have any concrete evidence or figures but I do think Shadow Priest mana needs to be looked at again. Thank you for your consideration.
Steps for reproducing the issue: Compare shadow priest mana regeneration to that of other hybrid casters with a 220,000 mana pool. Shadow priest mana regeneration is a lot slower.
As another demonstration. Once I am oom on my shadow priest, I do not even regenerate enough mana to cast psychic scream by the time its off cooldown, let alone any other utility spells which i may need to cast in addition. This would mean after we oom our mana can NEVER recover in a prelonged pvp fight where we need our utility spells.

I should take note of the gold I spend for drinks cause of this bug and then have a refund. So hard to fix a passive teamplate??
I'd like to aport that the mana regeneration of dps casters is from 11k to 20k depending the caster.

The regen of mana is fixed at 7k/sec on retail. It's not affected by stat.
