additional information through further testing: I disenchanted an item that I acquired from before the update, and it disenchanted fine with me acquiring dust. I believe the issue stems from the new items being upgraded items due to the new way that they are fluctuated item levels based on character level when acquired rather than one fixed level like prior to 7.3.5 but that is my guess

this is for low level items such as the blue items from wailing caverns that were given as to a level 31/32 character or from quest rewards given to same character by quests in westfall as well as NPC drops from.same area

Same. I have tried both green and blue items. The disenchant "action" occurs, the item is deleted from inventory but no crafting reagent is created. It is intermittent and seems to be present most frequently when disenchanting dungeon drops. This problem needs attention, please.

i found out that the "drop" of the materials its very, very ,very low. I managed to Disenchant an get some materials but it was to hard.

Same. I receive lesser magic essence and strange dust from the lowest level classic crafted items. World and dungeon drops yield nothing. Mid-level classic crafted items yield nothing. Please fix.

Update: I am able to shards via DE but no essences or dusts

I am only able to successfully DE crafted materials.
Anything looted in world/dungeon/any quest rewards, gives a blank loot screen after DE action.

Character: Rowelle, Horde, 30 Mage (120 Enchanting)
Problem: Disenchanting still not working neither on dungeon or crafted items. It deletes the item, but doesn't add any enchanting materials.

I have a problem while disenchanting anything I get from drops in world, dungeons and quest rewards. Some crafted items (lower level 1-120 tailoring) sometimes work but later you just get nothing. We have no means of advancing enchanting before Legion or WoD, so please fix this.

Also am only able to disenchant lower level crafted items (and sometimes not even then). Higher level items can also be disenchanted, but basically anything between item level 30-70 is affected by this bug. Huge problem; enchanting is effectively broken as a profession.

On further testing, item level ~55 seems to be the cutoff.

I have submitted a patch on the forum, let's hope that 1, it works, and 2, it gets accepted.

same here it still dont work i still dont get items from disenchanting or any xp. only items that work are ones i tailor myself!! everything else cant be disenchanted specially from dungeons and normal drops

Same here: Character Ametheinthys 35 warlock. Any items that I get from drops/rewards disenchant into nothing. Now Items I make from tailoring, MOST of the time will disenchant as normal, but often it will give nothing as well. This issue needs to be fixed.

There is still the same problem. Character: Apocàlyptica, lvl 26 mage. It doesn't metter if I disenchant dropped items or crafted by tailoring, green and blue items lvl 30-40 give me nothing.

Almost one year later and its not fixed yet ? How come that they dont care about it !!!! vany one that hade one answer to this . Cant find that ore get one from them.

J'ai eu le problème aussi.
Jusqu'au niveau 52 voir 54 aucune compo, après impeccable. Par contre attention les objets violets sont buggés aussi.

I have the answer =) Was talking to a admin 10 min ago……. He told me to donate 10 euro hahahahaha than it maybe it can open up for disenchanting. Dont like that answer when the server is supose to be free lvling.

Running into this too... Kinda hoping it'll be possible to level enchanting via Draenor enchanting. Still haven't gotten my toon to that point though...

Bump. Disenchanting is still broken.

Level 23 here, just tried to disenchant something from stockades, the thing vanished and I got nothing for it.

I believe many low level items do not yield any mats upon disenchanting but legion disenchanting works fine.

I have new characters, started around Aug 30, 2019. I have a lvl 60 tailor with vanilla wow tailoring of 300. Starting enchanting and couldn't disenchant any item with an item level above 20. Doesn't matter if the item is crafted or drop or green or blue. Leveled enchanting the hard way up to 150, but the disenchanting is still not functional for anything above item level 20. Also note that without being able to level vanilla enchanting, this prevents outland enchanting and limits outland tailoring due to the lack of outland level dust.

I'm having the same issue. My green items disenchant fine, but I get nothing from my blue items. Very annoying.

The disenchanting in classic gives items only if u have enough enchanting skill this concerns only classic

Low level item disenchanting dons give me regents but level 60 item does give me regents

Bumped here, level 25 troll mage, not even a single item from dungeon finder (blue/green) was DE properly. Fix pls

You get the items after when disenchanting other items. I noticed that when I disenchant something I get no items back. Then I try to disenchant again it says I am still looting. Then any successful disenchant (after restart) will show the correct item in inventory.

Still not working...
