Here is a detailed information of why players cannot reach the Lorewalker reputation on exalted without any extra item/VIP
But before wasting your time with reading, long story short, when getting a achievement, the player SHOULD get 1920 rep. and for the extra 2950 rep.
Players needs to gain 42000 reputation, to become exalted with the Lorewalkers. Without the help of the Item (ID93230) or VIP, it is not possible to reach it.
How is it retail like: Players only have to do 9 out of the 12 achievements, to become exalted 9 x 4770 (1920+2850) = (42930rep/42000 rep)
How to reproduce it: Simply just get one of the achievements, and you'll see, that you wont get the 1920 rep.
ISSUE: there is no rep reward, when getting the achievement. I've added a video where you can see how a player gets the rep., when getting one of the achievements.

FOR PLAYERS: It is possible to get exalted and i tell you how:
1) Simply just get VIP by donating or do the RaF feature to get the 30% reputation bonus.
2) When reaching revered, to gain 100% extra rep. buy this item: https://www.wowhead.com/item=93230/grand-commendation-of-the-lorewalkers

Well I just waisted a whole lot of time trying to get the Disc Mount! I cant talk to Lorewalker Cho even though I got his letter in the mail.
